Travere taps Bradley Campbell to lead its next chapter

Bradley L. Campbell will become president and chief executive officer of Travere Therapeutics on December 1, 2026, succeeding Eric Dube after Travere announced the planned transition. MarketWatch reported that Dube is stepping down to focus on his health and family after nearly eight years leading the rare-disease drugmaker. Campbell will also join Travere’s board.

The handoff has a defined runway. Dube will continue in his current roles until December 1, then serve as executive adviser through February 15, 2027, and provide additional transition assistance afterward. The SEC filing describes the arrangement as a way to ensure a smooth transfer of responsibilities rather than a sudden break.

A rare-disease operator taking the chair

Campbell joins from Amicus Therapeutics, where he was president and CEO before the company became a wholly owned subsidiary of BioMarin. He previously served as Amicus’s president and chief operating officer. That background puts an experienced rare-disease executive into a company whose next leadership phase will require continuity in relationships, clinical development and commercial execution.

The sources do not attach a separate turnaround slogan or a speculative target to Campbell’s appointment. What they do document is a board-led succession with a clear date, a named predecessor and an orderly advisory period. Dube’s decision is framed around health and family, while the company’s filing makes the mechanics of the handoff explicit.

There is a human detail worth keeping in view: the outgoing CEO remains close enough to the work to help transfer it, but the incoming CEO receives a defined moment to take responsibility. That same emphasis on a prepared handoff runs through David Khougazian’s move into the Chiesi Group CEO role, another healthcare succession built around continuity.
