Iveco Group will appoint Damiano Cretarola as chief financial officer on November 2, succeeding Anna Tanganelli, who has held the role since December 2023. The company announced the change on October 21. Reuters reported the appointment, and Iveco Group’s release confirms the effective date and reporting line.
Cretarola is currently senior vice president of Planning & Controlling and will report directly to CEO Olof Persson, joining the company’s Senior Leadership Team. He has worked within Iveco Group’s businesses since 2004 and has held senior finance posts, including regional and business CFO roles at CNH Global and CNH Industrial. Before that, he spent a decade in audit and consulting at PwC in Switzerland. Iveco says his appointment reflects his contribution to the finance organization and his understanding of the company’s business and strategic priorities.
The handover is an internal promotion rather than an external search. That gives the finance function a leader with a long view of the business as it has changed across corporate structures: Cretarola’s career began in the group’s predecessor businesses, and he has been with Iveco Group since its establishment in 2022. The company’s announcement does not describe a change to the CFO role’s scope or to the broader senior leadership structure.
Tanganelli’s departure from the CFO post ends a tenure that began in December 2023. The company has not announced another role for her. Its statement thanks her for her contribution and describes the incoming appointment as part of the group’s leadership continuity. The November 2 start date gives the organization a defined handover point, with Persson remaining the executive to whom the finance chief reports.
Readers tracking finance leadership can compare the move with our earlier coverage of Levi Strauss naming John Vandemore as CFO. In Iveco’s case, the successor comes from inside the finance organization, after responsibility spanning planning, controlling and earlier regional finance assignments.
Persson described Cretarola’s appointment as recognition of his contribution to the finance organization through periods of significant change. He also cited the executive’s knowledge of Iveco Group’s financial dynamics and strategic priorities. The statement presents the choice as a leadership decision grounded in experience already inside the business; it does not announce a broader reorganization or a change to the reporting line.
