Ittycheria had led MongoDB before Desai took the role. The two companies are therefore making related but distinct decisions: Meta is creating a new enterprise leadership post, while MongoDB is managing an unexpected vacancy at the top.
There is no stated effective date for Desai’s Meta appointment beyond the companies’ September 28 announcements.
