Rebecca Hall will join Hikma Pharmaceuticals as chief financial officer and executive director in the first quarter of 2027, Hikma said. The company has not yet set the precise start date. Hall is currently senior vice president and CFO of ViiV Healthcare, where she oversees finance, supply chain and business development.

The change gives Hikma a finance leader with experience across three continents and across both finance and operations. Hall spent the first 14 years of her career at GSK, then joined ViiV in 2018 and became its CFO in 2024. The appointment follows a deliberate handover rather than a sudden vacancy: Areb Kurdi is serving as acting CFO until Hall arrives, while Khalid Nabilsi will leave Hikma’s board on December 31, 2026 and remain deputy CEO for North America and Europe.

A wider operating brief

Reuters reported the appointment as Hikma prepares to bring Hall onto the board. The company said her remit at ViiV included finance, supply chain and business development, a combination that matters for a pharmaceutical group whose strategy depends on making medicines accessible across markets.

Hikma CEO Said Darwazah said Hall’s financial and operational discipline should support the delivery of the company’s strategic plans. Board chair Victoria Hull described the appointment as a step toward broadening expertise across the executive team and board. Hall said she intends to help deliver Hikma’s growth ambitions and create lasting value for patients, shareholders and colleagues.

The transition also echoes the finance-leadership pattern readers saw when Diageo named Joanne Wilson as CFO: the appointment is about more than a title, placing a senior finance operator inside the company’s next operating phase.\n\nThe calendar gives Hikma a clean runway into 2027. Hall will arrive after a period in which Kurdi keeps the finance seat warm, while Nabilsi’s board departure is already scheduled. That sequencing reduces ambiguity for investors and employees: the formal title changes later, but responsibility is being transferred in stages. It also makes Hall’s first months a useful read on how finance, supply chain and commercial priorities are being brought into one operating conversation. That makes the appointment a transition with a defined handoff, not a vacant seat waiting for a last-minute fix.
