Tractor Supply names Fahim Siddiqui technology and digital chief

Tractor Supply Company will appoint Fahim Siddiqui as executive vice president and chief technology and digital officer on October 26, adding him to its Executive Committee. The company’s announcement says he will report to President and CEO Hal Lawton, while Fortune’s C-suite roundup included the move among its recent Fortune 500 leadership changes.

Siddiqui’s remit spans enterprise technology and digital operations: infrastructure, business applications, cybersecurity and digital commerce. Tractor Supply said the role is meant to strengthen capabilities that support team members, improve the customer experience and enable long-term growth. In practice, the scope puts core systems and customer-facing digital channels under one executive. The announcement describes the responsibilities but does not attach a new technology plan or a list of specific initiatives, so the confirmed development is the leadership appointment and its breadth.

His background makes the scope concrete. Siddiqui served as executive vice president and chief information officer at Home Depot from April 2022 to May 2025, after joining the retailer as senior vice president of information technology in December 2018. In those roles, he led enterprise technology and cybersecurity, including platforms supporting e-commerce, marketing, merchandising, supply chain and data analytics. Earlier, he held senior leadership roles at Staples, Vidyo and Intralinks. The company says he brings more than three decades of business and technology leadership, including experience building and leading large technology organizations.

Siddiqui is taking the technology remit previously held by Robert D. Mills, who resigned from Tractor Supply in August to become president and CEO of B&G Foods, Fortune reported. The appointment clarifies who will own the portfolio and when the change takes effect; it does not, by itself, signal a broader reshuffle of Tractor Supply’s executive team.

The move also shifts Siddiqui from a home-improvement retailer to a rural-lifestyle business, while keeping his work centered on retail technology, digital commerce and security. Encafeinados previously covered Disney’s creation of its first CTO role for Karandeep Anand, a separate example of a consumer-facing company giving technology leadership a defined place at the executive table. The companies are different; the common thread is the elevation of technology responsibility into a named senior role.

Siddiqui begins on October 26. Tractor Supply has named his reporting line, committee seat and operating scope, giving readers a clear first milestone rather than an open-ended succession timeline.
