Ivica Maric will become chief financial officer and take responsibility for operations at Hugo Boss on October 1, succeeding Yves Müller. Handelsblatt reported that Müller resigned his executive-board mandate for personal reasons; Reuters separately confirmed Maric as his successor as CFO.
Maric has worked at Hugo Boss since 2005, mostly in controlling and accounting, and has served as executive vice president for business operations since 2023. He is moving up from inside the company at a moment when finance and operations are being kept together under one leader.
A finance chief with operating memory
The combined brief gives Maric a broad seat at a consequential moment. His predecessor had been CFO since 2017 and added responsibility for operations in 2022, covering IT, logistics, production, procurement and purchasing. Spanish business coverage from Europa Press reported that Michael Murray, Hugo Boss’s supervisory-board chair, pointed to Maric’s experience in financial steering and to digitalization and efficiency projects he had helped advance.
The change follows Stephan Sturm’s departure as CEO and comes as Frasers Group holds a 47.89% stake in Hugo Boss and seeks a majority position, according to the company reporting summarized by Handelsblatt. That makes the October 1 handoff more than a routine CFO replacement: Maric inherits the numbers and the operating machinery while the ownership conversation remains active. It is the kind of inside move readers will recognize from Nu México’s recent CFO appointment, where continuity in the finance function was part of the story.
